2018 NC Commercial Energy Code Training

This workshop will provide an in-depth look at the 2018 North Carolina Commercial Energy Code which goes into effect January 1, 2019. Be prepared for the new code, learn the various pathways to compliance, system controls, the intent and other energy saving strategies. The workshop will compare the prescriptive compliance option with the ASHRAE 90.1 2013 option, as well as the performance compliance option. An intensive look will be at the changes in the building envelope requirements including; insulation, air sealing, and fenestration. Mechanical systems, service water heating, and lighting requirements will also be covered. Attendees are encourage to bring their new code books along if able as it will be a helpful resource in the discussions and provisions of the new Energy Code.

Jarrett Davis currently serves as the National Technical & Building Science Director for Max-Life Industries and Taylor Clay Products located in Salisbury North Carolina, where he leads the product development and testing group for new innovations in the building enclosure and energy efficiency product field. Previous roles and committees include the Director of Building Science for a national architecture and engineering testing firm, building and energy code committees, expert witness, and building enclosure commissioning agent.
